I can't believe it! After 2 weeks of working 14h shifts we observed this afternoon, for the first time, a FRET signal in a voltage clamped neuron in the buccal ganglion of Aplysia! Just now, at 9.30pm we reproduced the result in a new preparation and thus verified our first experiment. FRET imaging using voltage sensitive dyes is feasible in Aplysia! Now it's time to hit the bars and party! I'll fly back to Berlin tomorrow at 8am, so I'll post some pics and data here as soon as I find the time back in Berlin.
Whooohooo!
