It is done! Our paper on spontaneous activity in Drosophila fruit flies is finally out in PLoS One. Almost 4 years of hard work in the can! Phew!

And the media reports are already starting to pour in:
New Scientist, Nature, LiveScience, Scientific American, EurekAlert, Reuters, Newsweek, MSNBC, MSNBC Forum, FOX News, PhysOrg, World Science, ScienceDaily,
SciNet News, Science NewsMetro, Yahoo News, Daily Telegraph, MedIndia.

In German: BR-online, Pressetext Schweiz, Netzeitung.de. The German news agency dpa also circulated their own press release and it got picked up by a number of newspapers throughout the German speaking countries: MainPost, Lübecker Nachrichten, Schwäbische Zeitung, Welt, Thüringer Allgemeine, Mitteldeutsche Zeitung, Networld.at, Frankfurter Rundschau, Frankfurter Neue Presse (2), ORF.
We'll see what else is coming now that the article is widely accessible.
The blogosphere has also taken note. Coturnix over at Scienceblogs has given our article a thorough treatment and the first comments are beginning to pour in as well (including mine, of course ). On Technorati, you can find quite a number of blogs referring to our work.
