What surprising effects a press-release can have. Our paper on spontaneous behavior in the fruit fly Drosophila due to appear in PLoS One next week is accompanied by a press-release PLoS sent out just a day or two ago. Today, I received email requests for interviews and clarifications from the Daily Telegraph, New Scientist, Reuters, LiveScience and Science News. Not even our Science paper has drawn such media attention. I'm thrilled to see what comes of it.
Now I just have to word everything I say very carefully, so the complicated issue comes across properly.
