Fruit fly spontaneity blogroll news | email to someone | printer friendly
In total, over 40 blogs have covered our work on spontaneous behavior in flies, some with very long and scholarly discussions and comments. Most of the blogs paid very close attention to what we wrote and how we worded it, which really did impress me. I guess it makes for much better reporting if the journalist is not forced to sell his/her article. (Coincidentally, this also says a lot about the effects the current funding situation in science may have on the science that is published.) Or maybe bloggers don't just assume their readers are stupid? I guess it's somewhere in-between or both
Now, almost one week after the publication of the paper, I'm closing the blogroll with the Dilbert blog:

Bjoern -

Thanks for the kind words on my blog, Letters from Le Vrai.

Free will is a fascinating topic and I'm always happy to see researchers working on it. I'm equally fascinated by the nascent field of 'consciousness studies'.

And just to clarify, I wasn't addressing my post to you researchers as much as I was to the media. I just felt that some of their headlines were misleading. For instance, "Fruit Flies Have Free Will" from [link]!

Congratulations on your work!

Best,
Juno

Would you consider being interviewed over Skype for the Bayblab podcast?

Sure! That'd be fun! What day and time did you envisage?
